Our Purpose

- Educating patients about self-maintenance and living preventatively.
- Helping women fully embrace the beauty and complexity of their bodies.
- Welcoming individuals of every background and lifestyle through our doors.
Personal Journey
Chinese Medicine has transformed every area of my health from digestion and menstrual cycles, to how often I catch colds. I used to have all kinds of issues, and even when I tried to do everything right, nothing improved. Once Acupuncture and herbs got me back on track, it was my lifestyle that really had to change in order to stay healthy. I learned how eating until I was stuffed was messing with my skin and energy, that consistent exercise actually made my cycles regular, and that meditation literally improves everything. There were so many things that I wished I had known sooner!
I began incorporating herbal medicine into everyday cooking, utilizing meditation to keep me grounded, and continued learning everything I could to help people reshape their habits for a better quality life. In truth, these shifts are far more than habits; they echo a philosophy of moderation, or “the middle path”, that can be applied to all areas of life. I often return to this Taoist quote:
“Fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill. Keep sharpening your knife and it will blunt.”
There is a sweet spot where you get the best of both ends of the spectrum, and that’s the target I’m always aiming for in my life and as a physician. This lifestyle has gifted me with health that actually improved as I got older, which is why it needs to be shared and why I incorporate these ideas into every treatment. I’m so grateful to have been able to pass this knowledge on to my family and patients over the last two decades, and to learn from them in turn. When I’m not working, you’ll find me trying out new hiking trails, new foods, and new places to travel! I’m also pretty impressive on my roller skates and embarrassingly bad on a bicycle.
Erica Docimo, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., is a California and NCCAOM Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. After earning a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, she attended The Academy of Orthopedic Acupuncture (AOA), and was one of the first physicians to become certified through the AOA in pain reflex-release technique and manual nerve blocking. She is educated in both Eastern and Western Nutrition, and provides patients with dietary counseling in addition to Acupuncture and Herbal prescriptions.
I first came to Erica with a myriad of physical pain and digestion issues. Erica used a combination of simple releases, acupuncture and herbal medicine to ease the pain. I noticed a difference within a couple weeks and continue to see improvement after every visit.
